100 observations against Al Hajoori

Bismillahi Wal Hamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu Was Salaaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillah

Ammaa ba’d:

As promised in the end of our dawra in Birmingham yesterday (30/6/2013), here are the 100 (or more) points and observations the people of knowledge have against Yahya Al Hajoori, collectively gathered from the writings and audio of the people of knowledge against him, I will mention them twenty at a time so as to make them easier to digest and they are of course simply listed since the intent here is not to mention them with their quotations and references, (that can be done at a later date) but simply to mention the issues in a bullet point for those who wish to be acquainted with the affair

Wa billahit Tawfeeq

1. His claim that the Messenger erred in regards to the means of giving da’wah (Wasaa’ilud Da’wah)

2. His belief that not all of the sunnah is revelation

3. His establishing that the statements of the Messenger – Sallallahu ‘Alaihi was Salam are not accepted except with evidence

4. His belittling some of the affairs of the religion that we have been commanded with (like his statement about Shaikh Muhammad Al Imaam, who gave a lecture during the period of the attack of the Hoothi shi’ites upon Ahlus Sunnah and he mentioned “Ahlus Sunnah will die from hunger and Killing and this one doesn’t even mention it! instead he speaks of the Hijaab and whether a woman should cover or not!”)

5. His holding that some of the people of hypocrisy (Munaafiqoon) were students of the Messenger – Sallallahu ‘alaihi was Salam

6. His claim that the deviation known as ‘Irjaa’ (the belief that imaan is in the heart alone (or the heart and tongue as some used to hold) and it doesn’t rise and fall, and that actions are not from Imaan) started with the Sahaabah and that the first the speak with it was Qudaama Ibn Madh’oon – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu

7. His attack upon the rightly guided Khalifah Uthmaan – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu

8. His claim that The Companions at the battle of Badr disobeyed Allah twice and so Allah made a calamity overcome them (this he claims, is the meaning of the verse 165 in Suratu Aali Imraam (“you smote your enemies with one (i.e a disaster) twice as great”..(Refering to their victory in the Battle of Badr) he claims the verse means they commited two sins in the battle of Badr!

9. His method of enumerating the errors of the companions similar to the raafidhah

10. His view that the Sahaabah participated in the killing Uthmaan

11. His view that whosoever curses all of the companions, then he doesn’t disbelieve until he intends by way of that to reject the whole religion or to disparage it

12. His claim that the companions forsook uthmaan – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhum

13. His claim that if Allah punished all of his slaves without them having sinned or committed a crime, then he wouldn’t have oppressed them, which is the belief of the Jahmiyah and the Ash’arees (The belief of Ahlus Sunnah is that Allah would never do such a thing rather he only punishes due to actions committed and Ahlus Sunnah do not even make the suggestion since it opposses the attribute of Justice)

14. His claim that whosoever doesn’t know the truth (I.e From the people of knowledge) after researching, then that is due to his negligence, for if he had researched correctly then he would have found it. This is the belief of the Qadariyah and the Mu’tazilah. Ahlus Sunnah Hold that the Mujtahid who strives to come to the truth and exerts all his efforts doing so then he is rewarded for his efforts and is not punished or considered negligent

15. His claim that Pharoah and the Kuffaar called to Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyah

16. His view that Ahlus Sunnah is the ‘closest’ of the groups to the truth

17. His claim that there is no difference between innovators who call to their innovation and those who do not call and thus he claims that the speech of the Salaf in that regard is false empty speech

18. His declaring someone an innovator due to sin (like him declaring on the tape ‘Tubayin Al Kadhib’ when asked about a man that leads people in Salaah but he is homosexual he responded ‘A homosexual is not from Ahlus Sunnah!’ what is a Sunni?! Is he merely the one who affirm the names and attributes?!)

19. Him not making a difference between At-Tawwali (To show love and alliegence to the Kuffaar, and to love to see them and their religion aided and victorious over the Muslims) and Al Muwaalaat (as for Muwaalaat, then it resembles At Tawali in the affair of aiding and supporting but on occasions it is done for reasons related to deen and on occasions it is done for worldly purposes which is a sin but not considered Kufr)

20. He declares the son of Adam Qaabil (Kane) a Kaafir! And he passes the verdict of apostasy upon him! (Shaikh Ibn Baaz Mentions in Majmoo’ Al Fataawaa (3/117): “Indeed Qaabil (Kane) was sinful and killed his brother Haabil (Abel) without right but they were both upon Islaam!”)

Addressing Anjem Choudhury Part 3

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillah

Ammaa Ba’d:

Under Point 2 The Document mentions:

02: THERE IN NO SUCH THING AS MODERATE OR RADICAL OR EXTREME ISLAM

Under this point he begins with the statement:

“The terms extremist, moderate, terrorist, radical etc… have no place in Islam whatsoever.”

He also claims: “..These terms have been introduced into the vocabulary by the British regime and the media in order to isolate Muslims who practice their deen and thereafter to demonize them and eventually to bring in laws to silence them hoping that the other Muslims will not speak up in their defence..”

This statement of his is again either one of ignorance concerning the statements of Allah and his Messenger (May Peace Be Upon Him), or a continuation of the ongoing fabrications we see coming from this man and his group.

Regardless of how these terms are used by the Non-Muslims, it is falsehood to reject the fact that these concepts have been mentioned in the Book and the Sunnah. If Anjem is ignorant of the presence of these affairs in the book and Sunnah, then he has no place speaking on behalf of any Muslim until he learns the religion (or perhaps he is working with the previous principle of his ‘anyone of them (the Muslims) may represent them all!’) or he knows of them, and he intentionally hides that which is in the book and the Sunnah, which is a worse calamity!

Allah mentions in the Qur’aan

Thus have we make you a balanced nation (i.e. moderate) that you may be witnesses over mankind
(Suratul Baqarah Vs 143)

The Messenger (May Peace Be Upon Him) also said:

“Be aware of extremism (Al Ghuloo) for indeed those who came before you were destroyed by extremism
(Sunan An Nasaa’ie Hadeeth No. 3057)

Thus we clearly have references to extremism and moderation in Islamic text. We have the encouragement with one, and a warning against the other.

As far as the term ‘Terrorist’ then, while the issue of striking terror in the heart of the enemy during ‘legislated’ and ‘legitimate’ warfare is a desired affair among all nations, to use murder, kidnapping and other such methods as a means for change, political or otherwise, is the evil path of the first of the innovators who appeared within this Ummah, those who assassinated Ali Radhiyallahu Anhu, the khawaarij. Thus the Scholars of Ahlus Sunnah consider the terms ‘Irhaab/Irhaabi’ (Terrorism/Terrorist) as accepted terms referring to a well known group of individuals.

Shaikh Abdul Azeez Ibn Baaz mentions: “At-Tattarruf (Extremism) is (a methodology based upon) taking (innovated) allowances that have no legitimate substantiation and no evidence supporting them. Terrorism is that one attacks or kills individuals without right or evidence, in fact upon ignorance and devoid of insight. They then, are referred to as ‘Terrorists’ (Irhaabiyoon), those who kill people without right and without shariah proof. They affect the security of the people and cause problems between then and within their country, they are Terrorists.

(From the tape: Verdicts of the scholars concerning Jihaad and Suicide missions and terrorism)

In this section we see other examples of Choudhurys ignorant generalisations. He states:

“The Messenger (May Peace Be Upon Him) Muhammad (saw) said: “Whatever is not based upon my teachings will be rejected

Again here we see an example of his untrustworthiness in narration, if he cannot be trusted when narrating from the Messenger of Allah (May Peace Be Upon Him) then he undoubtedly will be even less trustworthy with the speech of anyone else!

The Messenger (May Peace Be Upon Him) said in the hadeeth of Aisha:

Whoever brings about in this affair of ours that which is not from it then it will be rejected

(Collected by Bukhaari and Muslim) And in a variant narration:

Whoever carries out an action in this affair of ours that is not from it will have it rejected
(Collected by Muslim)

These two narrations are the closest authentic hadeeths carrying that which resembles the meaning of the text that Choudhury has quoted. No doubt though, we observe that the meanings of the authentic narrations revolve around innovations ‘in the religion’ while the wording Choudhury sites is broader and encompasses much more than the actual hadeeth.

The authentic hadeeth mentions specifies the issues of religion, while his version would appear to carry the meaning that there is nothing that may be carried out by the Muslim at all, unless there is text to substantiate it. While this is true as it relates to acts of worship and issues of belief, it does not hold true in relation to worldly affairs. The principle that our scholars mention regularly is that the worldly affairs are all permissible unless there are clear-cut texts prohibiting a particular action. This principle they base upon the statement of Allah the most high:

It is he who has created for you all that is on the earth” (Suratul Baqarah Vs 29)

And other such texts which indicate that Allah has given us these things to enjoy as we will, as long as we do not partake in prohibited matters.

It is important then that we observe well, the inaccuracies we observe in this document, since they form the basis of much of their warped view and extreme methodology as we will go on to see inshallah.

Abu Hakeem

Addressing Anjem Choudhury: Part 1

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillahi

Ammaa B’ad:

Undoubtedly from the trials faced by the Muslims in the west, are those trials that the individual muslim undergoes, then there are the trials that occur at the hands of oppressors within the Ummah that are more general and affect more than the perpetrators themselves.

Allah the most high says:

And fear the affliction which affects not in particular those of you who do wrong (but it afflicts good and bad people)

(Suratul Anfaal Vs 25)

From the greatest examples of this type of trial is that which is witnessed by Muslims and non-Muslims in the west alike, being promoted by deviant khaariji individuals and groups.

Maybe one of the most bothersome for citizens of Great Britain is that which has come from Anjem Choudhury and his organisation.

In a relatively recent document produced by him and his group, we see various examples of his misrepresentation of Islaam, the Muslims in general and the Muslim creed, the like of which is harms Muslims before it harms anyone else.

Analysis of the document brings to light the Ignorance, destructive misunderstanding and at times the outright treachery, lies and deception of this individual and his group.

The reality then of this individual and his group is that they are nothing but another modern day manifestation of the prophesized khawaarij the messenger of Allah – Sallallahu Alaihi was Salam spoke of.

The Messenger of Allah mentioned as occurs in a hadeeth in Saheeh Al Bukhaari, the hadeeth of Abu Sa’eed Al Khudree – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu wherein the Messenger – Sallallahu alaihi Was Salam described a people who were to come who would ‘..recite the Qur’aan but it will not go past their throats, they will pass through the religion the way an arrow passes through its game, they will kill the people of Islaam but leave the people of Idol worship..”

We see then that the Messenger mentioned that from their characteristics is that they will ‘kill the people of Islaam and leave alone the people of Idol worship’. Our scholars mention though, that the Khawaarij that succeeded this early band of khawaarij went on to kill muslims and non muslims alike. From the sects of khawaarij that have manifested there is a sect known as the ‘An-Najdaat’ which was from the earliest groups of the khawaarij, they began to view as lawful the blood of Ahludh Dhimma (non Muslims living under the Islamic state) as Shahrastaani states in Al Millali Wan Nihal (P124). Likewise another group known as the Sufriya deemed it permissible to indiscriminately kill Muslims and Non Muslims. Imaam Ibn Hazm states: “A group from among the Sufriya held it compulsory to kill whoever they were able whether Muslim or Non Muslim..” (Al Fisal 4/190). Thus their killing became indiscriminate not long after their initial appearance, and this trait has continued with them until the present day.

There is no doubt then, that what we all recently witnessed, from the brutal murder of lee Rigby in Woolwich London carried out by Khaariji Mujaahid (Michael) Adebolajo, was nothing but another manifestation of this very evil ideology. Regardless of how we feel about events in our countries the act was ‘Haraam’ and no one should feel that ‘it serves them right’ or they are now receiving ‘a taste of their own medicine’ for when has an act of haram ever been praiseworthy? Hajaaj bin Yusuf not only took life but he killed Sahabah yet it would have been Haraam for an individual to take it upon himself to kill him due to that.

From the well known groups of early khawaarij we have those who were known as the Qa’diyah. They were those who sat back (Qa’adoo) and encouraged others to revolt and kill and were from the most evil of them.

There is no doubt that in our time and country Anjem Choudhury is at the head of them (i.e The Qa’diyah) Thus when he was questioned about the Woolwich murder carried out by someone he had nurtured, he expressed that he was ‘Shocked’ by the murder but refused to condemn it. Any Muslim would have hastened to condemn the murder, if only on the basis that it was haram, but Amjem refuses to do so which of course implies tacit approval. And perhaps the only reason he was ‘shocked’ was due to the fact that he and his group have historically in the U.K been a group of ‘Qa’diyah’ it then perhaps shocked him that someone actually did something for once, though he clearly did not disapprove.

This then is the first part of a brief discussion of some of the points Anjem Choudhry makes in a relatively recent article him and his group produced called ‘Islamic Prevent’ wherein he states that which he holds every muslim, particularly those in the U.K should be maintain.

This Individual and his group have been responsible for bringing nothing but Fitnah, corruption, turmoil and hardship to our midst! Due to their actions brothers have been attacked, sisters abused and unveiled (or even made to strip in one case!) legislation affecting Muslims tightened, travel made difficult and sometimes humiliating, Articles, books and blogs written in ridicule of Islaam, the da’wah affected, Masaajid, The houses of Allah firebombed and burnt to the ground, and our elderly killed.  Will they then not reflect upon the blessing of peace and security mentioned in the book and the sunnah.

The Blessing of peace and security

There is no doubt that peace and security and public safety is indeed a great blessing. It is a blessing that is enjoyed by the rich, the poor, the young, and the old, both male and female. Even the creatures and animals benefit from it. By way of Allah blessing us with security we are able to establish the Salaah (Prayer), populate the Masaajid (Mosques),the Ulamaa and students of knowledge are free to bring benefit, Tawheed is established, good is enjoined, evil is prohibited, the bonds of kinship are easily maintained, the pathways are safe, students of knowledge are able to travel to obtain knowledge, oppression is repelled and the wealth, property, honour and blood of the people is protected.

And indeed Allah has warned us against Fitan (the plural of fitna lit: trials/afflictions) particularly the like of which encompass the people in general.

Allah the most high says: “And fear the fitna (trial/affliction)that does not affect the oppressor alone” (Suratul An’aam Vs 25)

that is it affects the oppressor and perpetrator of crime and other than him.

And indeed Allah the most high mentioned the affair of public security being from the reasons why they should establish worship to him alone as he is the one who as blessed them with it among other things.

Allah the most high says: “..We cause the (Quraish) caravans to set forth safe in winter and in Summer, so let them worship the lord of this house (the Ka’bah in Makka. (He) who has fed them in hunger and granted them safety from fear” (Suratul Quraish Vs 2-4)

Indeed the prophet of Allah has said: “Whoever wakes up in security with his herd (of cattle), healthy in his body, possessing sustenance for his day, then it is as though he has the whole world in its entirety as his possession” (Authentic: Collected by At Tirmidhi 2346)

When security has the station that it does, Abraham – Alaihis Salaam gave it precedence in the supplication that he made for the future inhabitants of Makka.

Allah the most high says: “And when Ibraaheem said “Oh my lord make this land (Makka) secure and provide sustenance for its people…”(Suratul Baqarah:126)

Similarly Islam with its various rulings and legislations has come to protect that which is known as the ‘Durooriyaatul khams’ (the five major major necessities that Islam has been sent to protect) namely: the religion, ones person, the intellect, the lineage and ones wealth) For indeed the affair of mankind in this world is as the messenger (saw) has informed us, resemblant to a ship that the people are in. Those on the lower deck of the ship intend to make a hole in the boat which will result in all of them sinking in the boat and so it is the duty of rest of those on board to stop them from their intent so as to save all of those aboard.

Therefore whosoever opens a door from the doors of fitan it is the duty of every Muslim to close it and to prevent that even if they intend good or feel these actions are justified. Thus what is ultimately looked at is the outcome of those actions and the path being followed and not the fact that the one who carries them out have good intent. For intent alone doth not a good action make.

Thus we will address some of the ideas of Anjem Choudhury and his group hoping this will highlight the evil of this man and his call.

I initially called it Addressing soundly, the corruption of Anjem Choudhury, his transgressions of the boundaries and his foolishness and floundery’ or alternatively ‘Addressing Anjem Choudhury’ and I ask Allah to make it sincerely for his face.

A Word on Easter – A benefit from Ibn Katheer

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillahi

Ammaa Ba’d:

Since this is the easter season and much is being said about the significance of easter and its claimed origins. It is well known that easter and the customary practices within this season have, in truth, no connection to Jesus the son of Mary, but in fact have paganistic origins (The term ‘Easter’ is in actuality a reference to the Persian goddess of fertility ‘Ishtar’ who was worshipped at this time of year. The Easter bunny and Easter egg (symbolic of fertility) are likewise paganistic in origin, thus these traditions were ‘imported’ into Christianity. We mention here then, a benefit related to the significance of Easter and clarification concerning a misconception.

The Christian narrative suggests that Eesaa had travelled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover (which was that which took place prior to the day that Allah saved Moosa and his followers from pharaoh and his army, the day of Aashooraa. The biblical story suggests that it had been decreed that the firstborn sons of the people of Egypt would be killed as a punishment for rejection of Moosaa except the households of the believers, who were commanded to smear lambs blood around their doors which would cause the angel of death to ‘passover’ that household.) The following week he (Jesus) learnt that his time to go was near, thus he had a ‘Last Supper’ with his disciples on a day which is referred to as maunday Thursday and then washed their feet. On Friday he was crucified and then on Sunday, Christians believe, he was raised from the dead and that is celebrated on easter Sunday.

It is established in the book of Allah, that it was not Eesaa who was taken and crucifed in fact it was someone Allah made to resemble him (based upon one of the positions of the scholars of tafseer) and he was taken in his place.

Allah the most high states (concerning the reasons of disbelief of the Jews):

and because of their saying (in boast) “We killed the Messiah Eesaa, son of Mary the Messenger of Allah, but they didn’t kill him, neither did they crucify him but rather a resemblance was made..”

When the Christian version of the story is mentioned many conclude that the incident of the last supper is the same as that mentioned in Suratul Maa’idah Vs 112-115:

(Remember) when the disciples said: “O Eesaa, Son of Maryam! Can your lord send to us a table spread with food from the heavens? Eesaa said: “Fear Allah if you are indeed believers” They said: “We wish to eat thereof and to satisfy our hearts and know that you have indeed spoken the truth to us and that we may be witnesses thereof. Eesaa son of Maryam said: “Oh Allah Our Lord send us from the heavens a table spread that it may be a feast for us, the first of us and the last of us and a sign from thee and give us sustenance for though art the best of sustainers. Allah said: ‘I am going to send it down unto you, but if any of you disbelieves , then I will punish him with a torment such as I have never inflicted upon anyone among all the aalameen (Mankind and the Jinn)

It should be mentioned that this incident is NOT the same incident as the last supper, as is commonly misunderstood, in fact this incident has NO mention in the bible at all.

Imaam Ibn Katheer mentions in tafseer of the verse:

“The story of the table spread (descending from the heavens) is not mentioned in the Injeel, it is not known by the christians except by way of the Muslims, and Allah knows best.”

Imaam Ibn Katheer mentions a number of narrations (much of them unconfirmed) that are linked to this story.

Some of those narrations mention that Eesaa had commanded his followers to fast for thirty days after which they made the request for the table since they were in need of eating and they were for the most part poor and needy.

One narration states that when they made the request Eesaa became upset with them and mentioned the fact that the people of ‘Aad were destroyed because they asked their prophet for a sign and due to how they received and responded to the sign Allah sent to them, they earned the anger of Allah and were destroyed.

Some narrations would appear to liken the occurrence to the popular ‘feeding of the five thousand’ incident, since some narrations mention four thousand individuals were present while other narrations mention that the meal consisted of fish and bread which is similar to the food mentioned in the feeding of the five thousand incident in the bible, is it a reference to the same occurrance? No doubt there are similarities.

In any case, that which is established, is that the affair of the table descending from the sky is not mentioned in any christian source, as is the case with that which is mentioned in the Qur’aan concerning the story of the birth of Eesaa and him speaking in the cradle, and other affairs that have no mention in the Bible. This establishes then the falsehood of those who claim that the Messenger ‏‏ (ﷺ)wrote the Qur’aan after being inspired by some of the people of the book he had sat with, and he then modelled his book upon christian scripture!

Some of the scholars of tafseer held that in fact the table did NOT descend because they say that when Allah said:

“..but if any of you disbelieves , then I will punish him with a torment such as I have never inflicted upon anyone among all the aalameen (Mankind and the Jinn)

They (Jesus’ disciples) responded by saying:

“Then we have no need for it!” and it didn’t descend. This was held by Mujaahid and Al Hasan (Al Basri) and Ibn Katheer declared the chains of narration going back to these statements of these two Imaams of the Salaf to be ‘Saheeh’

He then goes on to mention that this may be one of the reasons it does not occur in their sources, for if it had occurred then the narrations from them would have been plentiful.

But then he ultimately concludes that the majority of the scholars of tafseer hold that it DID occur, and this is the choice of Imaam Ibn Jareer At Tabari, because Allah affirms that he sent it down with his statement:

“..I am going to send it down unto you, but if any of you disbelieves , then I will punish him…”

It is for this reason some narrations mention that Eesaa disliked the request, but that which highlights the virtue of Muhammad – Sallallahu alaihi was Salam, is that when a similar request was made to him he responded to the request differently.

Upon the authority of Ibn Abbaas – Radhiyallahu anhu who said: ” (Individuals from The tribe of) Quraish approached the Prophet – Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Salam and said: “Make Dua to your lord for us to that he turn Mount Safaa into gold! and then we will believe in you! So He said: “And will you do so? they said: “Yes! so the Messenger of Allah supplicated to Allah and he was approached by Jibreel who said to him: “Indeed your lord conveys Salaam to you and says: “If you wish I will turn Safaa into gold but whosoever disbelieves after that I will punish him with a punishment I have not inflicted upon anyone in creation, or if you wish I will open for them the door of repentance and mercy” so he said: “Then the doors of repentance and mercy

(Collected by Imaam Ahmad in his ‘Musnad 4/60 and Al Faakihi In ‘Akhbaar Makkah 4/12 and declared ‘Saheeh’ by Shaikh Al Albaani in ‘As Saheehah 9/174)

Highlighting the mercy the Messenger -Sallallahu alaihi was Salam – had and his desire to see people guided to the Haq even though many of them were arrogant and steeped in rejection.

Love for the poor is from Imaan!

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillahi

Ammaa Ba’d:

Someone had requested from me to mention the hadeeth containing this du’aa of the Messenger of Allah – Sallallahu ‘alaihi Was Salam, so I mention the text here for general benefit, since the hadeeth itself is tremendous!.

Upon the authority of Ibn Abbaas – Radhiyallahu Anhu who said: the messenger of Allah – Sallallahu alaihi was salam said:

My lord came to me tonight (while asleep) in the most beautiful form! And said:

Do you know what those in the highest gathering are arguing about? So I said: “No” so he placed his hand between my shoulders until I felt the coolness of his hand (and in a version ‘His fingertips’) between my breast then I was acquainted with knowledge of that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. So He said: “Oh Muhammad! (Now) do you know what the highest gathering are arguing about? So I said:

“Yes! (They are arguing) concerning that which expiates sins and that which raises one in level!

(As for) the expiations (then they are):

(1) “to remain in the masjid after the prayers,

(2) To walk, by foot to the congregational prayers and,

(3) Perfecting ones wudhu in difficult conditions (i.e. cold etc.)

So he said: You have spoken the truth Oh Muhammad! And whosoever does so, lives upon good and dies upon good, and is purified from his sin like the day his mother gave birth to him!.

And he said: “Oh Muhammad! When you pray you should say:

اللهم إني أسألك فعل الخيرات و ترك المنكرات و حب المساكين و أن تغفر لي و ترحمني و تتوب علي و إذا أردت بعبادك فتنة فاقبضني إليك غير مفتون

“Oh Allah! I ask you (to bestow upon me) the performance of good deeds, and (to bestow upon me) the abandonment of evil acts, (to instil within me) love for the poor, and that you forgive me and have mercy upon me and accept my repentance, and if you intend to put your servants under an affliction, then take me to you without putting me under trail!

(Allahumma Innee as’aluka Fi’lal Khairaat, Wa tarkal Munkaraat, wa Hubal Masaakeen, wa an taghfiralee, wa tarhamanee, wa tatooba alaiyya, wa idhaa aradta bi ‘ibaadika fitnah, faqbidnee ilaika ghaira maftoon)

And as for that which raises one in levels (then it is):

(1) To spread salaam

(2) To make food (for the people)

(3) And to pray by night when the people are asleep”

(Collected by Imaam Ahmad in his ‘Musnad’and by ‘Abd ibn Humaid’ and declared ‘Saheeh’ by shaikh Al Albaani in Saheehul Jaami’ 59 and ‘As Saheehah 3169)

In this hadeeth we have that which is established by the ulamaa of Ahlus Sunnah concerning the affirmation of the Messenger seeing Allah in his sleep and that this is something established as Shaikhul Islaam has mentioned in various places in his writings. He also mentions that this is accepted by all sects excluding the Jahmiyah.

Ibn Abdil Barr Mentions in ‘At Tamheed 24/325: His statement in this hadeeth: “..I saw my lord..” the meaning of this with the people of knowledge is in a dream wallahu a’lam

Al Haafidh Ibn Rajab explained this hadeeth in possibly the lengthiest explanation of the hadeeth of any of the past scholars, and he mentioned numerous benefits related to it from them:

  • That everything the messenger has described his lord with is the truth and it is compulsory to believe in it without likening Allah to his creation
  • In it is an evidence of the nobility of the prophet -Sallallahu alaihi wa salam and one of his virtues and that is him being taught the knowledge of that which is in the heavens and earth (except of course the five things that only Allah knows. Allah mentions: “And with him are the keys of the unseen, none knows them except He. He knows whatever is in (or on) the earth and in the sea: not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry but it is written in a clear record” Suratul An’aam Vs 59) just as Ibraaheem was shown the dominion of the heavens and the earth (as occurs in suratul An’aam “Thus did we show Ibraaheem the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he may be of those who have faith with certainty” Suratul An’aam Vs 75)
  • In it is evidence that the highest gathering, and they are the angels’, debate among themselves
  • It also indicates the virtue of the six affairs mentioned in the hadeeth since the gathering of Allahs angels have debated among themselves concerning them!
  • The ‘difficult conditions’ mentioned in the hadeeth has been explained to mean extreme cold
  • That walking to the masjid is better than taking transport
  • The majority of the scholars hold that the things mentioned in the hadeeth expiate minor sins and not major sins
  • That the intent behind ‘remaining in the masjid after the prayers’, is for the purpose of waiting for the next prayer, though he mentions that the hadeeth includes those who remain behind for the purpose of remembering Allah, to read, to listen to knowledge or to teach knowledge

That to have love for the poor has its basis in loving for the sake of Allah, because the poor do not possess from the dunyah that which would necessitate loving them (that is as it relates to most people) so they are (ordinarily) not loved except for the sake of Allah

Advice to Abu Dharr – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillahi
Ammaa Ba’d

After delivering the Friday sermon this last week (1/6/2012) and the previous week (25/5/2012) in the discussion of the beautiful and lengthy hadeeth of Abi Dharr Al Ghifaari Radhiyallahu Anhu who was advised by the messenger – Sallallahu Alaihi wa salam after asking him numerous questions, some of my beloved brothers (May Allah reward them) requested that I send the hadeeth out for benefit.

As I mentioned in the sermon, some parts of the hadeeth are saheeh, some parts hasan and some Da’eef (weak). For benefit I will mention firstly the authentic (whether saheeh or hasan) parts of the hadeeth as one text so that the reader benefits from the flow of the text, then I will follow that up by mentioning which parts are Saheeh and hasan and I will also add the da’eef sections of the hadeeth (in red) as they occur in the original text, that the reader may be aquainted with it, quoting in that regard, the rulings of Shaikh Al Albaani upon it.

Thus here is the text of the Hadeeth and I ask Allah that he benefits my brothers and sisters with it.

Upon the authority of Abi Dharr – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu – who said: “I entered the masjid (on an occassion) and found The Messenger of Allah – Sallallahu Alaihi Was Salam sitting alone. He said (to me): “Oh Abaa Dharr! Indeed the masjid has a greeting and its greeting is to pray two rak’ah so stand and pray them.”

He (Abu Dharr) said: “So I stood and I performed them”

Then I returned and sat with him and said: “Oh Messenger of Allah!, Indeed you have commanded me with Salaah, so what is Salaah?

He said: “The best (act of worship) sent down! So perform much of it or little! (meaning the choice is yours but the more of its ‘legislated’ forms you perform the better)

He said (Abu Dharr): “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Which action is best?

He said: “To have belief in Allah and to make Jihaad in his way

He said: ” I said “Oh Messenger of Allah! Which of the believers is most complete in Faith?

He said: “The one that has the best character

So I said: ” Which of the believers has the best Islam

he said:”The one who the people are safe from his tongue and his hand

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah which Salaah is best?

He said “The one that has the longest standing (I.e for recitation)

So I said Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which migration is best?

He said:”The one that migrates from evil deeds

He said:” I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah then what is fasting?

He said: “A compulsory action that one is rewarded for, and with Allah the reward is many times multiplied

He said: “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which Jihad is best?

He said: “The one in which ones riding beast is injured and his (i.e. the warriors) blood is spilt

He said: “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which charity is best?

He said: “The (Charitable) effort of the one who has little, given secretly to the poor

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! then what is the greatest of that which Allah has sent down to you?

He said: “Aayatul Kursi

I said: ” Oh Messenger of Allah! How many were the messengers?

He said: “Three hundred and thirteen, a large amount

He said: I said: ” Oh Messenger of Allah! who was the first of them?

He said: ” Aadam – Alahis salaam

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! was he a prophet that was sent?

He said: “Yes! Allah created him with his hand, then blew his spirit into him, and spoke to him directly!

The intelligent person, as long as his mind has not been overcome (i.e. by mental illness) should have (a number of) periods. A period wherein he calls upon his lord, a period wherein he takes account of himself, a period wherein he reflects upon the creation of Allah and a period that he spends seeking his needs from food and drink.

Likewise the intelligent person should avoid travel except for three reasons, (to gain) provisions for the hereafter, seeking his livelihood or taking enjoyment in that which is not prohibited.

it is like wise upon the intelligent person to have insight into his era, to proceed towards his affair (i.e. to head diligently towards the affairs that benefit him) and to guard his tongue. And whosoever evaluates his speech in comparison to his actions, will speak little except in that which concerns him.

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! What were the scrolls of Musaa?

He said: “They were all lessons (and admonitions).

I am amazed at the one who is certain of death then he is happy. And I am amazed at the who is certain of the (presence) of the fire then he laughs, and I am amazed at the one who is certain of pre-decree (concerning that which has been allotted to him) then he wears himself out. And I am amazed at the one who sees this world, and how affairs change for its people then he is tranquil within it. And I am amazed at the one who has certainty that the reckoning is tomorrow yet he doesnt act

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! advise me!

He said: “I advise you with the fear of Allah, for indeed it is the pinnacle of all affairs.

I said: “Oh messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Cling to reciting the Qur’aan and the remembrance of Allah, for indeed it is light for you in the life of this world and it is preserved for you in the heavens

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Be aware of laughing excessively, for indeed it kills the heart and removes light from the face

I said: “Oh messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Make jihad, since it is the monasticism of my Ummah” (meaning that when monasticism revolves around abstention from the world and selflessness there is no greater form of this than that a person participates in battle)

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase Me!

He said: “Love the poor and sit with them

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Look to those who are lesser than you (i.e. are less well to do) and dont look to those who are above you (i.e. have more than you) as it is better in preventing one from looking down with disdain at Allahs blessings upon you

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Speak the truth even if it is bitter!”

This then is the end of that which is authentic from the hadeeth.

Truly as Imaam Manaawi mentions concerning the hadeeth:

What an amazing bequest! How beneficial, comprehensive and wonderful! Glad tidings to the one who is granted success in accepting it and acting upon it!”

(At Tayseer 1/786)

That which follows is some detail from ‘Dha’eef mawaarid Adham’aan’ – (p11-17) of Shaikh Al Albaani concerning which parts of the hadeeth are Saheeh, Hasan and Dha’eef and I have highlighted the weak portions in red

(Hasan Li Ghairihi except the command (ie to stand and pray) for it is saheeh)

He (Abu Dharr) said: “So I stood and I performed them”

(Hasan Li Ghairihi)

Then I returned and sat with him and said: “Oh Messenger of Allah!, Indeed you have commanded me with Salaah, so what is Salaah?

He said: “The best (act of worship) sent down! So perform much of it or little! (meaning the choice is yours but the more of its ‘legislated’ forms you perform the better)

(Hasanun Li Ghairihi – At Ta’leeq ur Ragheeb 1/145)

He said (Abu Dharr): “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Which action is best?

He said: “To have belief in Allah and to make Jihaad in his way

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi – As Saheehah (1390))

He said: ” I said “Oh Messenger of Allah! Which of the believers is most complete in Faith?

He said: “The one that has the best character

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi – As Saheehah (284))

So I said: ” Which of the believers has the best Islam

He said:”The one who the people are safe from his tongue and his hand

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah which Salaah is best?

He said “The one that has the longest standing (I.e for recitation)”

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi – Al Irwaa (458))

So I said Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which migration is best?

He said:”The one that migrates from evil deeds

(Saheeh Li ghairihi – As Saheehah (549 and 553))

He said:” I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah then what is fasting?

He said: “A compulsory action that one is rewarded for, and with Allah the reward is many times multiplied

He said: “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which Jihad is best?

He said: “The one in which ones riding beast is injured and his (the warriors) blood is spilt

(Saheeh li ghairihi – As Saheehah (552) and Saheeh Abi Daawood (1303))

He said: “I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Then which charity is best?

He said: “The (Charitable) effort of the one who has little, given secretly to the poor

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi except the sentence about giving in secret Al Irwaa – 3/317 and 415)

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! then what is the greatest of that which Allah has sent down to you?

He said: “Aayatul Kursi

(Saheeh Li ghairihi – Saheeh Abi Dawood (1311)

then he said: “Oh Abaa Dharr! the seven heavens in comparison to the Kursi is not except like a ring thrown in vast open land (i.e a desert). And the virtue of the throne over the Kursi is like the superiority of that land over that ring!”

I said:” Oh Messenger of Allah! How many were the prophets?

He said: “One hundred and twenty thousand

(Da’eef Jiddan (Very weak))

I said: ” Oh Messenger of Allah! How many were the messengers from that?

He said: “three hundred and thirteen, a large amount

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi)

He said: I said: ” Oh Messenger of Allah! who was the first of them?

He said: “Aadam – Alahis salaam

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! was he a prophet that was sent?

He said: “Yes! Allah created him with his hand, then blew his spirit into him, and spoke to him directly!

Saheeh Li Ghairihi – As Saheehah (2668))

then He said (to me): “Oh Abaa Dharr! four of them were Syriacs, Aadam, Seth (Aadam’s Son), Enoch, and he is Idrees and was the first to scribe with a pen – and Noah. And four were Arabs, Hood, Shu’ayb, Saalih and your prophet Muhammad – Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Salam

So I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! How many books did Allah send down?

He said: “One hundred and four books: Fifty scrolls were revealed to Seth, thirty scrolls were revealed to Enoch, ten scrolls were revealed to Ibraaheem and ten scrolls were revealed to Moosaa before the revelation of the Tawraah, and the Tawraah, the Injeel, The Zaboor (the Psalms) and the Furqaan (The Qur’aan) were revealed”

I said : “Oh Messenger of Allah! “What were the scrolls of Ibraaheem? He said: “They were all Parables. Oh you insolent, wretched, self-conceited King! Indeed I did not send you to collect the dunya together, rather I sent you to respond to the supplication of the oppressed on my behalf, for indeed I do not reject it, even if it comes from a Kaafir

(Dha’eef Jiddan – Very weak, though the last sentance does have an origin see ‘As Saheehah (870))

It is upon the intelligent person, as long as his mind has not been overcome (ie by mental illness) to have periods. A period wherein he calls upon his lord, a period wherein he takes account of himself, a period wherein he reflects upon the creation of Allah and a period that he spends seeking his needs from food and drink.

It is likewise upon the intelligent person to avoid travel except for three reasons, (to gain) provisions for the hereafter, seeking his livelihood or taking enjoyment in that which is not prohibited.

It is likewise upon the intelligent person to have insight into his era, to proceed towards his affair (ie to head diligently towards the affairs that benefit him) and to guard his tongue.

And I am amazed at the who is certain of the (presence) of the fire then he laughs and I am amazed at the one who is certain of pre-decree (i.e. in relation to that which is alloted to him) then he wears himself out. And I am amazed at the one who sees this world and how affairs change for its people then he is tranquil within it. And I am amazed at the one who has certainty that the reckoning is tomorrow yet he doesnt act”

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi)

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! advise me!

He said: “I advise you with the fear of Allah, for indeed it is the pinnacle of all affairs.

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me! He said: “Cling to reciting the Qur’aan and the rememberance of Allah, for indeed it is light for you in the life of this world and it is preserved for you in the heavens

(Saheeh – ‘As Saheehah’ – (555))

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Be aware of laughing excessively, for indeed it kills the heart and removes light from the face

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi except the sentence about light – Saheehah (930))

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Remain silent except with that which is good, for indeed it repels the shaytaan from you and it is an aid for you upon the affairs of your deen

(Dha’eef Jiddan – Very weak see previous reference)

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Make jihad since it is the monasticism of my Ummah” (meaning that when monasticism revolves around abstention and selflessness there is no greater form of this than that a person participates in battle)

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi ‘As Saheehah – (555))

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase Me!

He said: “Love the poor and sit with them

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Look to those who are lesser than you (i.e. are less well to do) and dont look to those who are above you (ie have more than you) as it is better in preventing one from looking down with disdain at Allahs blessings upon you

(Saheeh Li Ghairihi – ‘Ar Rawdh’ – (604))

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “Speak the truth even if it is bitter!”

I said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Increase me!

He said: “let that which you know about yourself divert you from speaking about the people, and do not be angered by that which comes from them. It is sufficient deficiency for you, that you see and observe from them what you do not acknowledge about yourself (meaning that usually those who critisise usually possess the same traits as the ones he speaks about), and that you become angered by that which comes from them (ie towards you)

Then he struck my chest with his hand and said:

“Oh Abaa Dharr! There is no intellect like planning and considering the outcome of affairs, there is no piety like abstaining (i.e. from that which doesnt concern you, from harming people, from haraam etc) and there is no nobility like good character”

(I (Shaikh Al Albaani) say: In its chain is Ibraaheem ibn Hishaam ibn Yahyah Al Ghasaani. Abu Haatim and others said about him: “Kathaab (liar)”

(Dha’eef Jiddan – Very weak see ‘Ad Dha’eefah – 1910, 5638 and 6090 though some of its parts are authentic and established in other ahaadeeth..”

Fundamentals in the manhaj of the Salaf (Part 3)

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillahi

Ammaa ba’d:

Clinging to the way of the Salaf, was from the Manhaj of the Salaf!

A question that must arise when one calls to the way and methodology of the Salaf is:

‘Was it from the manhaj of the Salaf..to call to the manhaj of the Salaf?’

Hopefully the following narrations will bring clarity to this issue.

Upon the Authority of Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu who said:

Indeed we follow (i.e. the prophet and those who preceded us) and we dont initiate, we imitate (i.e. the prophet and those who preceded us) and we dont innovate, and we will never go astray as long as we hold on to that which they have left

(Collected by Imaamud Daarimi in his ‘Sunan/Musnad’ (205) and Ibn Nasr in ‘As Sunnah’ (28) and At Tabaraani in ‘Mu’jamul Kabeer’ 8770)

Upon the Authority of Ubai Ibn Ka’b – Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu who said:

Cling to the Path (The Sabeel) and the Sunnah for indeed there is no servant upon the path (sabeel) and the Sunnah who remembers Allah and his eyes shed tears due to fear of Allah, that will ever enter the fire. Certainly moderation upon the Sunnah and that which is good, is better than striving (hard) in opposition to the Path (Sabeel) and the Sunnah

(Collected by Al Lalakaa’ee (1/87) and Al Khateeb in ‘Al Faqeeh wal Mutafaqih’ (1/147))

Look how here Ubai Ibn Ka’b used the same expression (that is As Sabeel (the Path) and As Sunnah(the Sunnah)) that Ibn Abbaas – Radhiyallahu anhu used in his tafseer of the word ‘Minhaaj’ in the statement of Allah:

“..To each (nation) among you we prescribed a law and a ‘Minhaaj’..”

(Suratul Maa’idah Vs 48)

Indicating they understood what ‘manhaj’  was and the importance of clinging to it.

Upon the authority of Uthmaan Ibn Haadhir Al Azdi – Rahimahullah who said: I entered upon Ibn Abbaas – Radhiyallahu ‘anhumaa – and said “Advise me” so he said: “Remain Upright, Follow and do not Innovate, Follow the narrations of the first generation and do not innovate

(Collected by Ibn Nasr in ‘As Sunnah’ (29) and by Ibn Battah in ‘Al Ibaanatul Kubraa (157,158,200))

Muhammad ibn Seereen said: “They used to say, If a man is upon (following) the narrations (i.e. of the Salaf) then he is upon the path

(Collected by Ad Daarimi (140, 141) and Al Khalaal in ‘As Sunnah’ (1102))

Abul ‘Aaliyah said: “Cling to the first affair that they (i.e the Salaf) were upon before they (the Muslims) began to split (i.e. into groups and sects)

(Collected by Abu Nu’aym in ‘Al Hilyah (2/218) and Al Marwazi in ‘As Sunnah’ (26))

Imaamul Auzaa’ie mentioned: “Cling to the Narrations of those who have passed, even if the people reject you, and be aware of the opinions of people, even if they are beautified with speech. For certainly the affairs will become clear and you will find yourself upon a straight path.

(Collected by Adh Dhahabee in siyar ‘Alaamun Nubalaa (7/120))

Imaam Ahmad – Rahimahullah mentioned: “The foundations of the Sunnah as far as we are concerning are:

To cling to that which the companions of the Messenger -Sallallahu ‘alaihi Wa Salam were upon, and to follow them and to leave innovation

(Usoolus sunnah Imaam Ahmad p25-27 Maktabah Ibn Taimiyah print)

Al Imaamul Aajurri mentions in ‘As Shari’ah’ 1/301:

The sign of one who Allah wants good for, is that he follows this path: the book of Allah The Sunan of the messenger of Allah, and the sunan of his companions and those who follow them upon goodness. Likewise that which the Imaams of the Muslims were upon from every land to the another, those who are from the Ulamaa, the likes of Al Awzaa’ie, Sufyaan Ath Thowri, Maalik ibn Anas, Ash Shaafiee’, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Al Qaasim bin Salaam and those who are upon their path and staying away from every path these Ulamaa have dispraised

And that continues to be the case till this very day.

The Description of the Worldly Women in Jannah

Bismillahi Wal hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘alaa Rasoolillahi

Ammaa Ba’d:

The following are some text related to the women of Jannah, and I intend by the women of Jannah here, the women from the women of the Dunya who were successful in making it to Jannah. Since from the texts of the Book and the Sunnah, we understand that the women of Jannah are of two main types, The women of the Dunya who were rewarded with Jannah (From Mankind and the Jinn), and: The Hoorul Een who have never been in the dunya but were created in Jannah for Jannah.

It should also be Known that from the worldly women who are rewarded with Jannah there are those who are superior to the Hoorul Een.

The Messenger – Sallallahu Alaihi Was Salam said: “The best women of Jannah are four Khadeejah Binti Khuwailid, Faatimah Binti Muhammad, Maryam Binti ‘Imraan and Aasiyah Binti Mazaahim the wife of Pharoah.. )

(Collected by Imaam Haakim in his ‘Mustadrak’ (3836) and its chain is declared ‘Saheeh’ By Shaikh Al Albaani in Silsilatul Ahaadeethis Saheehah (1508))

Indeed from the scholars are those who held that the women of Jannah who were in this world and earned Jannah are all better than the Hoorul Een, since one was created in Jannah, while the other was rewarded with Jannah through their Imaan and righteous deeds and thus are superior.

Concerning the Hadeeth Imaamul Manaawi states:

“..he mentioned ‘.. Women of Ahlul Jannah’ and he didn’t (just) say ‘Women‘ which indicates that they are more virtuous than (even) the Hoor (Al Een), otherwise it would be believed that he (only) intended the women of this world..”

(Faydhul Qadeer 2/53)

So there are a number of characteristics mentioned concerning the women of Jannah who were women from the children of Aadam that were rewarded with Jannah after being in the dunyah.

From that:

1. Allah will purify them!

Allah the most high says:

“And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds that for them will be gardens beneath which rivers flow. Everytime they will be provided with a fruit therefrom they will say this is what we were provided with before and they will be given things in resemblance and they will have therein purified spouses and they will abide therein forever”

(Suratul Baqarah Vs 25)

Concerning the portion of the verse “..they will have therein purified spouses” Ibn Abbaas and Ibn Mas’ood said: “They will not have menses, neither will that defecate, urinate, break wind or have mucus.”

2. Allah will ‘recreate’ them!

Concerning the statement of Allah the most high:

Verily we will create them of special creation, and will make them virgins, Loving and playful (with their husbands) of equal age

(Suratul Waaqi’ah 35-37)

Concerning the statement in the  verse ‘..Verily we will create them of special creation..Imaam Ibn Katheer mentioned:

That is, we will renew their creation in the hereafter after them being elderly (in the dunya) having white secretion in their eyes (due to old age). They will become virgins, young, elegant, beautiful and playful with their husbands

(Tafseer Ibn Katheer 7/531)

Ibn Abbaas mentioned: “He (Allah) intends here, Adamiyaat (that is, women from the children of Aadam, since some held that the intent with the verse are the Hoorul ‘Een’)

That which brings clarity to this is the hadeeth of the messenger -Sallallahu Alaihi was Salam “Elderly women will not enter Jannah” Upon hearing this an elderly woman began to cry so the messenger of Allah said: “Inform her that on that day she will not be elderly rather she will be youthful For indeed Allah has said: “Verily we will create them of special creation..”

(Collected by At Tirmidhi and declared ‘Hasan’ by Shaikh Al Albaani in ‘Ghaayatul Maraam p215)

Concerning the statement: ‘Uruban..(Loving and playful (with their husbands)

Ibn Abbaas mentioned: “Passionate and emotional with their husbands and their husbands are passionate and emotional with them

(Tafseer Ibn Katheer 7/533 – Darut Taiybah print)

3. They will be large Chested maidens

Concerning the statement of Allah

Gardens and grapeyards, and young full breasted maidens of equal age..”
(Suratul Naba Vs 32-33)

Ibn Katheer mentions:” It was mentioned by Ibn Abbaas, Mujaahid and others concerning the statement of Allah: “Kawaa’iba Atraabaa ‘That is they will be Full breasted young maidens, due to the fact that they will be virgins, Loving and playful (with their husbands) of equal age (since the people of Jannah will be of one age) as has been clarified in (the explanation of) Suratul Waaqi’ah

(Tafseer ibn Katheer 8/308 (Dar Tayyibah Print))

4.They will have the most beautiful clear skin!

Upon the authority of Abu Huriaira who said the prophet – Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Was Salam Said (describing the beauty of women in Jannah): “..Her marrow is visible beneath her skin, and there are no bachelors in Paradise

(Collected by Bukhaari and Muslim)

Concerning this description of her skin in the hadeeth Imaamul Iraaqi mentions in tarhu Tathreeb “..Her marrow is visible beneath her skin..” That is, from the extremely pure nature of her skin, one can see her marrow just as one can see the fine threads inside a very pure pearl..”

(Tarhu Tathreeb 9/226)

However this manifests, it will be beautiful!

5. They will continue to become more beautiful every friday….forever!

Upon the authority of Anas ibn Maalik who said that the Messenger of Allah  – Sallallahu alaihi wa Salam said: “Indeed in Jannah there is a market that will be attended (by the inhabitants of Jannah) every Jumu’ah, wherein a breeze will blow upon them from the north, it will blow in their faces and upon their garments and they will increase in good looks and beauty (due to it). They will return to their families who would also have become more good-looking and beautiful. Their families will say to them ‘By Allah! you have become more good-looking and beautiful since you have left us! and they will say back to them: ‘And you By Allah have become more good-looking and beautiful since we have left out!’

one version mentions at its end ‘..and that is every Jumu’ah’

(Collected by Muslim in his ‘Saheeh’)

6. Their beautiful fragrance

Upon the authority of Anas Ibn Maalik – Radhiyallahu ‘anhu – who said that the Messenger of Allah – Sallallahu alaihi Was Salam – Said: “..If a woman from the women of Jannah were to appear in this world, that which is between (the heavens and the earth) would be filled with her (beautiful) fragrance.

7. Their Brilliance!

And they would illuminate that which is between the heavens and the earth..

8. The brilliant beauty of their garments alone

The previous hadeeth continues..

“.. The scarf that is on her head is better than the world and that which is upon it!”

(Collected By Tirmidhi (1651) and declared ‘Saheeh’ by Shaikh Al Albaani in Saheeh Sunan At Tirmidhi)

And as some of the salaf said: “If this is her scarf (or shawl) then what about her!. Think of All the tremendous beauty that is present in our present world and know that one of her accessories alone is better than it all!

This is just a portion of that which has occurred concerning what is promised to her, that is not to mention all the other delights of Jannah that she will partake in alongside the men who enter.

The Day of ‘Mazeed’ (The Increase)

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu wa Salaamu ‘alaa Rasoolillahi Ammaa Ba’d: One of the brothers yesterday (27/12/2011) asked me about the authenticity of a beautiful hadeeth that he had come across in the book ‘Al Nihaaya’ (The Book of the end) page 702 – 704 (Daarus Salaam print) and asked whether i knew of its authenticity. It brought me joy when i discovered, after looking in the various sources of the hadeeth and sifting through the statements of the scholars of hadeeth, that Shaikh Al Albaani declared the hadeeth to be ‘Hasan li Ghairihi’, for it is a hadeeth that brings tears to the eyes, so i share the hadeeth with my brothers and sisters and i mention some observations upon the translation found in the daarus salaam version of the book: Upon the authority of Anas ibn Maalik who said: that the Messenger of Allah – Sallallahu ‘Alaiihi wa Salam – “Jibreel – Alaihi Salaam – came to me and in his hand was a white mirror, upon it there was a black spot. I said what is this (refering to the mirror) Oh Jibreel? He said this is (the day of) Jumu’ah your lord presents it to you that it may be an eid for you and your people after you. You will be the first (i.e you and your nation will be the first to have their day of eid during the week) and the Jews and the christians will follow you (that is the following day is sabbath for the Jews on Saturday and the Christians day being Sunday). He (the prophet) said: What is there for us in it? He said: In it is Good for you! In it there is an hour if one supplicates to his lord for good that has been alloted to him, he will recieve it, or (supplicates for) something that has not been allotted to him, except that he will have preserved for him that which is greater than it. Or if he seeks refuge upon it from evil that was written to afflict him, then he is granted refuge. Or he seeks refuge from something that was not written for him, then he is granted refuge from an affair greater than it. So i said what is this black spot? He said: This is the hour (i.e the day of judgement) it will be established on a Jumu’ah. It is the leader of all the days with us, in the hereafter we will call it, ‘The day of ‘Mazeed’ (The increase) So i said: Why do you call it the day of ‘Mazeed’? he said: ‘Indeed your lord has taken a vast valley in Jannah made of white musk (In one version ‘Dunes of white musk’). On the day of Jumu’ah he decends from above the seven heavens until he is over the Kursee. He surrounds his Kursee with pulpits of light, then the prophets come and sit upon them. Then the pulpits are surrounded with chairs of gold and the martyrs and the truthful come and sit upon them. Then the People of Jannah will come and sit upon the dunes (of white musk), then their lord – Blessed and exalted be he – reveals himself to them and they look at his face. Then he says to them: “I am he who has been truthful in my promise to you, and perfected my favours upon you, This is the place of my ennoblement! Ask of me! So they ask him for his good pleasure, He says to them “It is My good pleasure that has caused you to enter my abode! and caused you to attain my ennoblement! So ask of me! So they ask of him until their desires are fulfilled. Then he opens up for them at that point what no eye has seen or ear has heard, and has not occured to the heart of any human being (this will continue) until the time that people turn away after jumu’ah. Then the Lord – Blessed and exalted be he – ascends over his Kursee and the prophets and the martyrs ascend with him) then the narrator mentions) I think he said: “And the Inhabitants (of Jannah) will return to their abodes which are made of unbroken pure white pearl having no taint or (made of) red ruby or green emerald. Their rooms and doors are made from it, its (Jannah) rivers flow within it continuously and its fruits hang low, they have within it their spouses and their servants. And they have no desire for anything more than they do the day of Jumu’ah, that they may increace in his ennoblement and that they may increase in looking at his face – Blessed and exalted be he – and for that reason it is called the day of ‘Mazeed’ (The Increase) (Collected by Al Bazaar in Kashful Astaar (1/254) and At Tabaraani in Al Awsat (2/314) Abu Nu’aym in ‘Siffatul Jannah’ (1/499) and Imaamul Aajurry in ‘Ash Sharee’ah (1/254) and declared ‘Hasan Li Ghairihi’ in ‘Saheeh targheeb’ (3761) A tremendous hadeeth that speaks of a tremendous gathering on a great day! As mentioned earlier this hadeeth is mentioned alongside another version of the hadeeth in the book An Nihaayah of Ibn Katheer. The second version mentions that the seats of the martyrs and the truthful have rubies and emeralds upon them and it also mentions that the friday is the day that Allah created adam and qiyaamah will be established upon it (this no doubt occurs in an authentic narration in muslim that establishes that). This second version of the hadeeth is collected by Imaamush shaafi’ee in his musnad with A very weak chain of narration. In its chain of narration are two problematic narrators, 1. Ibraheem ibn Muhammad who is declared ‘Matrook’ (Abandoned by the scholars of Hadeeth) 2. Musaa ibn Ubaida Ar Rabdhee who was declared ‘Dhaeef’ by the scholars of hadeeth Observations with the translation in the daarus salaam print There is an issue in the translation of the hadeeth in the english book that should be pointed out and that is that the translator mentions towards the end of the Hadeeth: “… then Allah Subhaanahu wa ta’alaa will acsend onto his kursee..” This statement has in it the implication that Allah ascends upon his kursee and not above his kursee which without doubt is an erroneous insinuation. Whether the translator intended that or not, due care and attention should be exercised in translating the likes of these ahaadeeth since this type of mistake has aqeedah related implications. Secondly he quoted the hadeeth upon the authority of Umair from Anas, while in actuality the Hadeeth was related by Ubaidullah Ibn Umair Thirdly there are a few places in the translation where parts of the hadeeth are missing or the translator writes (…) which i presume he does to indicate he didnt understand the words or the context in that segment of the hadeeth. These dots are usually used when there are parts missing from original manuscripts and are used usually to indicate ‘bayaadh’ or parts of an original manuscript that is unreadable or blank. Thus it would have been more befitting for the translator to mention that he didnt understand some words here or something to that effect rather than leaving the reader with the impression that something was missing from the hadeeth. In any case may Allah bless the brother that turned my attention to this tremendous narration and our great scholars of hadeeth who have serviced the sunnah of the messenger of Allah -Sallallahu alaihi was Sallam Wallahu A’lam Abu Hakeem Bilaal Ibn Ahmad Davis Www.twitter.com/abuhakeembilal

Angels that rise and descend with the rising and the setting of the Sun

Bismillahi Wal Hamdullillah Was Salaatu Was Salaamu ‘Alaa Rasoolillah

Ammaa Bad:

Another example of an affair that takes place daily within the creation of Allah, among the aspects of creation that we do not see is that which the Messenger informed us of that occurs daily with the rising and setting of the sun.

Upon the authority of Abu Dardaa – May Allah be pleased with him – (who narrates) From the Messenger – Sallallahu ‘alahi wa salam who said:

The Sun does not rise, except that on either side of it there are two angels that make a call that is heard by everyone on earth except Mankind and the Jinn (Saying) “Oh Mankind! Come to your lord! That which is little and suffices is better than that which is plenty but distracts (from your lord). And it does not set except that on either side of it there are two angels that call, (Saying) Oh Allah! Give to the one that spends (in your way) a goodly substitute, and and give to the the one that withholds (from giving) destruction

(Collected by Ibn Hibbaan (3319) and Shaikh Al Albaani Declared it ‘Saheeh’ in ‘Dhilaal Al Jannah’ (975))

We benefit from this hadeeth a number of things:

1. Another one of the duties of the angels
2. The virtue of Satisfaction and sufficiency
3. The virtue of giving with sincerity
4. The blameworthy nature of witholding and not spending in the way of Allah
5. The Fitna of the dunya

Wallahu a’lam
